Why attend this conference cycle..?
However, specialists too will benefit from this comprehensive programme, which will address off-site issues, such as environmental health and public safety, in addition to the on-site perspective of nuclear power plant operators.
Our first ECC is dedicated to meeting this demand for the 'complete picture' – high-quality background information, presented in a comprehensible and condensed way, and addressing these key questions:
• How is the situation in Fukushima-Daiichi one year after the accident?
• Can we compare the Fukushima-Daiichi accident to other severe accidents?
• What is actually the current status of Chernobyl and TMI in terms of environmental, economic, social and legal consequences?
• What have we learned from Chernobyl and TMI regarding accident management and long-term recovery activities?
• Are there some new 'lessons learned' to be drawn from Fukushima-Daiichi?
• What are the global prospects for the nuclear industry in the coming decades?
